Health Fitness Professional - Bentonville, AR

Walton Family Whole Health & Fitness Center

Part-time, 20-24 hours/week

Walton Family Whole Health & Fitness Center, managed by HealthFitness, is looking for Health Fitness Professionals to join the fitness team in Bentonville, AR. In this role, you will support the Fitness Director and Fitness Coordinator in the delivery of fitness related facility supervision and direct member program and service delivery. You will report to the Fitness Director.

What you'll be doing

  • Monitor fitness areas and interact with participants while monitoring equipment and participant safety. Act as primary contact providing customer service in the absence of Director or Coordinator.

  • Conduct fitness testing and assessments and advises participants of results. Design individualized programs to meet the participant’s interests, abilities and goals.

  • Provide individual and group exercise instruction. Educate participants on proper techniques to maximize exercise safety and effectiveness.

  • Coordinate and lead a variety of HealthFitness and program-specific health improvement programs and promotions.

  • Research health and fitness educational topics and identify appropriate participant educational materials. Conduct health education seminars/presentations.

  • Participate in membership drives to acquire new participants. Conduct fitness facility, program and equipment orientations.

  • Promote program offerings and conduct outreach activities to increase participation and re-engage inactive participants.

  • Create and maintain bulletin boards, newsletters and other fitness marketing and communication materials.

  • Other duties as needed/assigned.

What we're looking for

  • Associate’s Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related discipline OR the equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience.

  • 1+ years related experience a plus.

  • Adult/Child CPR/AED and First Aid certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute required prior to start date.

  • Proficiency in fitness assessment and exercise prescription. Competency in the delivery of HealthFitness and site-specific programs and services.

  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others.

  • Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook. Working knowledge of the member management system, databases, and tools.

  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands, meet deadlines, and collaborate with all business units

  • Industry recognized Group Exercise certification from ACE, AFAA/NASM, ACSM, NCCPT OR NETA required within 60 days of hire.

  • Ability to navigate electronic onboarding and timecard systems required.​
